In today's project you will explore the enormous potential of AI in the field of business process automation. For this, you will use combine OpenAI’s (the company behind ChatGPT) API and Triggre, a powerful platform to automate complex and repetitive business processes. You’ll create an email categorizer tool that's able to sort incoming customer emails according to their priority & sentiment.

The ability to read a text and understand the sentiment behind it was something that could not be automated until the emergence of AI. As a result, many time-consuming & repetitive tasks, such as answering customer emails, had to be completed manually. In fact, you burn through nearly 28% of your workday (that's a jaw-dropping 2.6 hours per day) just sifting through and replying to emails!
No-code and AI can easily solve this: in today’s lesson you’ll see how Triggre and OpenAI streamline email handling, ensuring you’ll be able to focus on replying to high priority emails first.

- Create an app in Triggre
- Create a Zap in Zapier
- Generate an OpenAI API key
- Create an AI-powered sentiment analysis and categoriser app in Triggre

Get ready to build!
To make your life easier when you build, it’s good to get some practical stuff out the way first. Follow these steps so you’re ready to build:
- Sign up for a Triggre account HERE
Time to cook 👩🍳
- Create the Triggre application. In this first step you’re setting up your Triggre environment, using a pre-built email categoriser template from Triggre to help you get started.
- Connect Zapier to Triggre. In this step you’ll be creating an email address using Zapier email and then connecting this to Triggre using a Zap. When emails are sent to this email address, you’ll later see them categorised within your Triggre application.
- Connect OpenAI to Triggre.
How does Triggre know how to categorise emails? That’s where the Open AI API comes in. You’ll connect Open AI to Triggre so that it’s able to determine the priority and sentiment of inbound emails.
