Logos exist primarily as a means of identification and differentiation for brands, businesses, and products. They serve as visual symbols that convey a brand's identity, values, and promises, facilitating instant recognition and association in the minds of users and consumers. Logos are crucial for establishing brand identity, fostering trust and credibility, and ensuring consistency across various platforms, assets and materials.
The modern concept of logos began to take shape during the Industrial Revolution (1760-1840), with the rise of mass production and the need for brands to differentiate their products. However, the use of symbols to convey messages goes back much, much earlier. You can look back as far as 3200BC and consider the use of hieratic scripts in Ancient Egypt as some of the first examples of images being used to convey some aspects of trade and commerce.
In recent years, logo design has been made easier for non-designers with the introduction of platforms like Canva. Fast-forward to today and there is a wealth of AI-powered logo design platforms to use, enabling you to create professional looking logos and brand kits in minutes.
How do AI-powered logo-design platforms work?
Most AI-generated logo creation platforms work similarly. They’ll usually ask you to enter some basic information about your brand, such as your brand name, industry and preferred stylistic preferences. This information is then used by the platform’s machine learning algorithms to analyze this information in accordance with vast databases of design elements, patterns and industry specific trends. These algorithms are typically trained on a wide variety of design data, allowing the AI to quickly produce customized, relevant logos.
You’ll usually be presented with a few concepts, which you’re then encouraged to tweak to your preference.
Most AI-powered logo creation platforms are free to use, but you’re asked to pay if you’d like to download your designs.
